Genevieve Newey

Project Coordinator

Genevieve is from a property near Armidale in the NSW Northern Tablelands, and studied Bachelor of Environments at the University of Melbourne before working as an Environmental Advisor. In this role, she worked with farmers and industry to ensure the conservation of sensitive habitats in northern NSW. Gen has spent the past two years in Germany, studying a Master of Science in Sustainability, Society and the Environment. Her Master’s thesis investigates the efficient design of an agri-environmental payment scheme to encourage a regenerative transition in Australia.

In her role with Sustainable Farms, Gen is excited to be working with a diverse range of stakeholders to elevate farm-based sustainability approaches, and has a particular interest in climate change mitigation.
